Impact Investing Alumni Interest Group Webinar: What Can Impact Investors Learn from Venture Philanthropists?

As part of our ongoing webinar series for the HBS Impact Investing Alumni Group, join Christy Remey Chin (MBA 1998), Managing Partner at the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation in a discussion on deal sourcing, diligence, and board service. Impact investors, like venture capitalists and venture philanthropists, depend on quality deal flow, thorough diligence and value-add beyond the money invested. DRK has funded more than 125 social enterprises, many of which have achieved extraordinary impact – including Kiva, Living Goods, Last Mile Health, Watsi, Crisis Text Line and Education SuperHighway. DRK focused on early-stage social enterprises and partners with the founders to bring their vision to reality. Christy will share DRK’s approach to prospecting for new deals, evaluating trends in deal pipeline, delving into investment criteria as well as developing a high-functioning board.
