If your computer is overheating when trying to work with your data, taking days to run a program, or you are running out of space to store your data, consider moving your data processing and storage to the HBS computer cluster (aka "the HBSGrid" or "the Grid").
This platform will allow you to scale up your computing, access data storage, and utilize large databases to store and process data.
Please note that all documentation about the HBSGrid, including those highlighted below, link out to a self-contained, searchable documentation site here: https://hbs-rcs.github.io/hbsgrid-docs/ .

Compute Cluster

The HBS compute cluster (HBSGrid) is an advanced computing environment that provides high-speed, high-capacity computing resources to enable HBS researchers to scale up effectively and efficiently conduct statistical analysis and programming.

Data Storage

Data storage is available for research projects with HBS members and guests, and can be used and accessed independently of the HBSGrid.
  • Home Folders
  • Project Space Folders
  • Scratch (Temporary) Storage

Database Server

RCS hosts and provides guidance for a database server running MariaDB capable of handling large and complex datasets.

    Other Research Computing Environments

RCS provides guidance on additional computing environments such as Harvard FAS RC's Cannon cluster and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
