RCP Terms of Service
RCP Terms of Service
Please note that the RCS Terms of Service differ for internal (HBS) users and external (non-HBS) users, i.e., guests.
Internal User Agreement for the HBS Research Computing Platform
This Agreement establishes the terms and conditions under which HBS will provide you with an account to the Research Computing Platform (RCP).
- You are responsible for following all applicable Harvard University policies, including but not limited to the Harvard Research Data Security Policy and Harvard Information Security Policy, as well as any requirements in data use agreements (DUAs), contracts, or IRB documentation that impact the handling of your data and use of RCP (relevant policies can be found here).
- The RCP is only appropriate for data assessed at Harvard Security Level 1, 2, or 3. If you have questions about the Security Level of your data, please contact informationsecurity@hbs.edu. This information can also be found in relevant Data Safety & Security (DAT) records.
- You will only access the RCP through authorized interfaces. An authorized interface
is defined as a workstation or laptop that:
- Is current with operating system patching;
- Has active anti-virus and anti-malware software installed and running;
- Has an activated firewall;
- Requires a strong password from users to log into;
- Complies with Institutional requirements as described here;
- Adheres to additional security requirements as included in associated compliance records (e.g., IRB, Data Safety & Security, DUAs, or Data Licenses) or as expressed by IT Security or RCP administrator.
- You must report all security incidents or suspected incidents (e.g., lost passwords, lost tokens, improper or suspicious activities, breaches) related to your use of the RCP to ithelp@hbs.edu / 617-495-6600 immediately.
- You must ensure that your use of the Platform is consistent with the parameters the RCP has explicitly expressed, and you will not attempt to make external connections to services or applications unless such connections are explicitly approved by the RCP.
- Your access and account may be suspended or terminated at any time if it is determined that you violated Harvard policies or guidelines, including this User Agreement or, for project sponsors, the project-level Attestation.
