Students are accepting offers on the West Coast at a growing rate. Last year 14% of the class of 2014 accepted full-time offers in the Bay Area, and 18% of the class of 2014 accepted summer internships there.

As enthusiasm for West Coast opportunities increase, so does our support. For the second year in a row, we packed up a team from our office and headed west for a two-day visit during Spring Break. Our goals were to:

1) Create a centralized place to network with HBS alumni, current students, and recruiters on the West Coast.

2) Coordinate school-facilitated interviews to the Bay Area to meet unique needs of San Francisco based organizations.

3) Meet in person with recruiters who want to hire members of the HBS community.

Our team split up and covered lots of ground. Some staff met with area organizations and led recruiting strategy sessions. We met with firms of various size and industry. Other CPD team members ran the logistics of 60 interviews, assisting 24 companies in connecting with potential HBS candidates.

One event that created a lot of buzz was the StartUp mixer. CPD and HBS California Research Center brought together local VC partners and alumni working in startups. Our students enjoyed the energetic discussions about what it is like to work in an entrepreneurial startup environment. In the evening, we gathered with current students and area alumni for a fun night of networking. We always enjoying seeing our strong community come together and make connections.

If you are looking to recruit members of the HBS community and missed this event, don't worry. We'll be back! Come see us next year March 31-April 1, 2016. In the meantime 2015-2016 club resume books will become available to pre-order August 25th, and you can use them to link up with students looking for West Coast opportunities.
