This panel discussion of esteemed scholars and experts addresses the recent tragedies facing the Israeli and Palestinian peoples, the historical and current factors that led to the conflict, and the broader geopolitical implications. Panelists include Shai Feldman, Raymond Frankel Professor of Israeli Politics and Society at Brandeis University; Amaney Jamal, Dean of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, Director of the Mamdouha S. Bobst Center for Peace and Justice and Edwards S. Sanford Professor of Politics at Princeton University; David Makovsky, Ziegler Distinguished Fellow at The Washington Institute, Director of the Koret Project on Arab-Israel Relations and Senior Advisor on Israel-Palestinian Relations under President Obama; and Khalil Shikaki, Professor of Political Science, Director of the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research and Senior Fellow at the Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University. The panel was moderated by Tarek Masoud, Ford Foundation Professor of Democracy and Governance at Harvard Kennedy School, Faculty Director of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Middle East Initiative, and Co-Editor of the Journal of Democracy, National Endowment for Democracy.
