A Clean Slate

View Video

At Harvard Business School, there are 25 MBA classrooms with chalkboards that are wiped clean and dried every day in preparation for the next class. The men and women of the housekeeping staff, who sometimes have only 10-20 minutes in-between classes to clean all nine chalkboards in two rooms each, manage this necessary process with great pride. Preparing the chalkboards for the next class is one of many crucial tasks that help HBS faculty provide the best possible academic experience for the MBA students. In addition to managing this responsibility, the housekeeping staff also help clean meeting rooms, offices and dormitories, maintain restrooms, provide bellhop service when needed, and assist with snow removal. Check out this video to see them in action.
