The Distinguished Professional Contributions Award from the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology honors his "longtime and significant contributions to the study of human behavior in the workplace." The Academy of Management's Distinguished Scholar-Practitioner Award recognizes his use of "practice-based learning to influence theory and research-based theory to influence practice." The Harry and Miriam Levinson Award , given by the American Psychological Foundation, honors his "exceptional contributions to consulting organizational psychology."
