Industry Adapts Quickly to Storm

Sandy had little immediate effect on the nation's industrial heartland, and the storm-hit areas near New York have few concentrations of industry, said David Simchi-Levi, a supply-chain expert at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Gary Pisano, a professor at Harvard Business School, who has written extensively about manufacturing, said he saw nothing "that moves the needle on the economy."
