"There's certain kinds of organizations—education and health organizations for example—where sometimes you actually need really good infrastructure and capacity and staffing, which is all overhead, in order to do the work well," says Alnoor Ebrahim, an associate professor in the social enterprise initiative at Harvard Business School.
