“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

Painted faces, excessive candles, and neon costumes adorned the large, wooden dining table. Music emanated from the mini speaker in the kitchen, inviting us to dance while we did the dishes. Another typical Sunday evening.

Growing up, my life was full of moments like this. When I couldn't sleep, my dad drove me on our white moped to get mud pie in the middle of the night. When Icona Pop's hit song came on, my mom started yelling "I don't care! I love it!" as she rolled down the windows in the middle of winter. When "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" played during my parents' dinner party, I ran up the stairs, two at a time, to dance and sing in the living room while everyone joined in.

These moments of pure bliss, when I find myself smiling and laughing so hard my cheeks hurt, are the ones I will remember my entire life. I plan to help everyone I know, everyone I work with, everyone I love, have these moments too – when they let their happy, reckless selves loose, and welcome painted faces on an otherwise typical Sunday evening.
