“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
I am opportunistic – I figure it out as I go along. In high school, I did not predict that I'd spend college studying art and literature in the Berkshire Mountains. In college, I never guessed that I'd work in venture capital in New York City. And back then, I never pictured myself at Harvard Business School. But these have been the best decisions I've made.

I think it was E.L. Doctorow who said that writing fiction is like driving at night – you can't see far ahead, but you can go the whole way like that. I think that's how life is.
