“I am grateful to be a part of this community and to have built some lasting relationships here. ”

Why did you choose this path at this point in time?

I was seeking challenges that would help me grow across dimensions beyond software engineering. After seeing my sister go through her Founder journey, I was inspired to start my own venture. Business school will help me build crucial business skills to complement my technical background and provide me with a launch pad to kick start my entrepreneurial journey.

Coming to HBS is like....

Taking risks with no downside. HBS has given me the freedom of two years to try out things that I dreamed of but could never pursue because either there was no time or pursuing them was too risky for me, professionally.

Being part of the HBS community is like…

Being surrounded by highly accomplished people with diverse experiences, filled with humility and gratitude. I am grateful to be a part of this community and to have built some lasting relationships here.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An astronaut. I was fascinated by space. When I was 5, I was in awe of Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian woman astronaut to go to space. I actually only gave up on my dream when I stopped growing at 61” tall.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Getting back home from school, especially on hot summer afternoons, was the happiest hour of the day for me. I loved putting my school bag away, grabbing a spot closest to the AC in the living room, and watching Cartoon Network with my sister, while our mom gave us bowls of sliced mangoes.

Who is one person from your life that you admire the most today?

My sister is my hero. Being four years older than me, she has had a big influence on me growing up. It’s inspiring to see her juggle being mother of her one-year-old and running her company like a superwoman

What’s the best thing about your hometown?

Food! Especially Indian street food, better known as “Chaat.” As kids, there was one specific Chaat shop that my sister and I visited every Sunday. Those trips were a total treat and I always ended up overeating. I’ll defend to this day that it is the best Chaat I’ve ever had.
