Apostille & Certification Support

The Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the only authorized body that can issue an Apostille/Certification. In support of this process, diploma copies, transcripts, and certificates of attendance can be notarized by the MBA Registrar's Office before you send them to the Secretary of the Commonwealth.

We can notarize any of the following documents for this purpose:

  • Transcripts & Certificates of Attendance

  • Diploma copies: Please email a color PDF or photo of your diploma to the MBA Registrar's Office and we will mail a notarized hard copy back to you; turnaround time is 1-2 weeks. Notarizing an original diploma is not an option.

Requests should be sent to registrar@hbs.edu from the alum's Harvard Business School email/LEFA account for verification purposes. Please provide a mailing address or indicate that you plan to pick the document up in person. Once you obtain the notarized document, you will need to make separate arrangements with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Office of the Secretary, Public Records Division.

Your request must include the following information:

  • Color PDF or photo of diploma

  • Full name and graduation year

  • Signature

  • Shipping address

  • Telephone number

  • Contact email address

Please allow up to seven business days for your document to be notarized. Delivery via Federal Express is available for $15 per address to US/Mexico/Canada and $30 to other countries.
