Here in the Admissions Office, we think a lot about our application process: particularly the ways we can continue to evolve and improve it. While the details of the application may change year to year, the end goal is always the same: we want to get to know you.

For prospective students, an important part of the application process is figuring out which business school is right for you. We know it’s important that you get to know HBS, so we wanted to outline our resources in one place. The fact that you’re here and reading this (hello!) means you’re already on the journey – but we hope this helps.

1.      Connect with HBS online

This is pretty obvious: we have a website! However, there might be a few online resources that you’re not aware of.

Webinars: We have over thirty recorded webinars for your perusal on our site. They are categorized by industry, geographic region, affinity group, and interest. Additionally, we have more general webinars about the latest application process and our 2+2 Program.

Email Newsletter: Signing up for our emails is a great way to stay up to date with the latest news and updates from HBS. You’ll hear from us about once or twice a month.

Direct from the Director Column: Throughout the year, our Admissions   Director Dee Leopold shares the latest application-related news in her “Direct from the Director” column. Her goal is to “inform applicants about what is going to happen, when and, often, why. It will draw back the curtain as far as we can so that this intense and intensive process of applying to HBS is as transparent as we can make it.”

First Year Experience Page: We heard feedback from prospective students that they wanted to know more about what life is like at HBS. Over the last year we put together the “First Year Experience” page – which curates HBS-related, student generated content from social media.

Twitter: That’s right, @HBSadmissions has joined the Twitterverse. Follow us!

#LifeatHBS Hashtag: For the latest social updates from HBS students, check out the #LifeatHBS hashtag on Twitter or Instagram.

Student Club Page: Many prospective students aren’t aware that you can find current students that share your interest by checking out the HBS Clubslist. Contact information for most of the clubs leadership teams can also be  found on the site.

Case Method Video: If there’s one thing Dee Leopold wants you to do before applying to HBS, it is to watch this Inside the Case Method video.

Start Your Application: We are looking forward to reading your application! Get started here.

2.       Connect with HBS On Campus

Join us for a Campus Tour and Information Session: Throughout the year (usually on Monday and Friday afternoons) we take prospective students on tours around our 40 acre residential campus. After the tour we host an hour long MBA program overview and admissions Q&A session. You don’t have to sign up for these, but you can see the latest schedule here.

Visit a Class: During the school year you are welcome to visit a class and see the case method in action. These generally run from mid-September through early May and you must register in advance.

Student Club Conferences: Student-led clubs host conferences throughout the year that are open to the public, and prospective students are welcome to attend.

Prospective Student Open House Days: HBS Admissions partners with affinity related student clubs to host a number of prospective student days for candidates who have an interest in learning more about certain communities at HBS including: the military, under-represented minorities, and LGBT. Keep an eye out for updates on our events page for these events.

3.       Connect with HBS On the Road

Attend a Domestic Event: We know it’s not always possible for prospective students to visit the HBS campus, so we come to you! Throughout the year you’ll see that we host information sessions around the country. These usually require registration and can fill up, so be sure to register early. These information sessions include an admissions presentation, a Q&A discussion, and the opportunity to chat with current students and alumni whenever possible.

Attend an International Event: We also host information sessions around the world. Last year alone we hosted over 40 events. You can access the list of our upcoming international events here. This site continues to be updated throughout the year as events are planned.

Thanks for reading, we hope it was helpful!
