I spent the first two years working in consulting in Greece and other countries in Europe. And I loved it! I was fortunate enough to work next to very inspiring individuals and be part of many project teams that were hard-working but at the same time fun and engaging, which ultimately offered me a solid understanding of business and made me a better person and leader. It was then time for me to serve in the Greek Navy, which is a mandatory requirement for all male individuals that must be fulfilled up until a certain age. [...]

It has always been important to me that I’m able to make a difference in the world. To have impact on any real scale, you need to be able to lead others. While in undergraduate, I was hungry to learn more about leadership and having a positive impact on communities through business leadership. Outside of the classroom, I was very involved with entrepreneurship and small businesses on campus through Harvard Student Agencies (HSA). As a student business manager within HSA, I gained valuable business and leadership experience managing teams of up to 25 employees and helped launch a startup that was venture funded and is still growing today. As I approached my final year of undergraduate, I knew I wanted to get some real-world business experience after graduation, but eventually would want to pursue a management and leadership education. I applied to the 2+2 deferred admission program because it was a great fit for my long-term goals. [...]

Earning an MBA appealed to me as an opportunity to expand my knowledge base and learn from a diverse group of peers. At HBS, the case method provides an opportunity to distill work experience and hundreds of cases into one’s own leadership philosophy. HBS also offers distinguished faculty, many of whom have run companies, led investment firms, or held other senior roles. While this is not a surprising fact, it takes on a whole new meaning after answering a cold call from a professor who was a Fortune 500 CEO! [...]
