Short Intensive Programs (SIPs) are courses that offer a great opportunity for students to think about career choices, gain practical skills, and explore new topics. These are no-fee, no-credit courses over winter break open to both first-year and second-year students. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I’d get into Harvard, let alone HBS. I didn’t apply to Harvard for undergrad because I was too intimidated, and I almost did the same for HBS. Among the choices, an MBA is not a typical option for people with a technical background. I had very few friends and colleagues who had gone the MBA path, and yet, the more I talked to those friends, the more I realized that an MBA was the perfect fit for me as a next step. [...]

Coming from an incumbent CPG company, it was a significant change working at a pre-revenue startup. At the time, I was considering whether an internship in San Francisco was the right choice for me. Seven months later, I find myself living in San Francisco and riding to work in the back of a self-driving car. [...]
