Wheeler served as CEO or Chairman of Pitney-Bowes for over three decades. Under his leadership, Pitney-Bowes grew from a regional postage meter manufacturer generating $3 million in revenues to a $300 million diversified direct mail machinery operation. He presided over a massive investment and diversification program that produced the first mass-market postage meter and a complete line of integrated mail processing equipment. Many of Pitney-Bowes’ machines set the standard for the United States Postal Service.
