In 1932, Beech assisted her husband in forming the Beech Aircraft Corporation, and within a short time, the company prospered and dominated the market for privately-owned small, commercial planes. Beech Aircraft was also an important defense contractor during World War II. After her husband’s death in 1950, Beech became president and diversified the company by producing large machinery.
