Under Miller’s direction, Cummins Engine was transformed from a small domestic engine producer to the largest provider of diesel truck engines in the world. He dramatically expanded the company’s presence in the international marketplace and was instrumental in convincing truck manufacturers to outsource their engine production to Cummins. By the end of his tenure, Cummins had reached the billion-dollar revenue mark and had captured over 45% of the domestic market for diesel engines.
