Recognizing the commercial and scientific opportunities for fiberglass in the mid-1930’s, Boeschenstein convinced Owens-Illinois to create a new company. With the launch of Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Boeschenstein built a new industry from scratch – tirelessly promoting the potential uses and applications for fiberglass for over 25 years. He is recognized as one of the early pioneers of the “Plastics Age” in the United States.
