Binder led Amgen to become the first commercially successful and largest independent biotechnology company in the world employing over 6,000 individuals and generating in excess of $3 billion in revenue. In 1999, Binder was named Chairman of the Biotechnology Industry Organization, representing 720 commercial, government and academic institutions focused on biotechnology research and product development.
