Lasker was a pioneer of hard-hitting advertising. He directed campaigns for such products as Palmolive Soap, Quaker Oats, and Pepsodent Toothpaste (he helped to found the latter company and was one of its directors for many years). He was instrumental in gaining public acceptance for Kotex sanitary napkins, and he popularized the idea of drinking orange juice through his promotion of Sunkist. By 1942, the agency’s billings soared to $50 million.
