Frank A. Seiberling
Despite being forced out of his firm during its post World War I financial troubles, Seiberling’s diligence and faith in the growth of the rubber business allowed his company to become the largest manufacturer of both carriage and automobile tires. When the firm began in 1898, it struggled to make a profit, but after Seiberling hired an astute MIT engineer and poured money into product development, Goodyear was producing about 40,000 tires per day and had revenues of $205 million.
