Home & Mobile Connectivity

Many faculty desire remote connectivity to campus from their home and mobile devices, so they can conduct their work conveniently from a variety of locations. To do so there are several options:

  • Home Internet Service - There are a number of home internet service providers in the Boston area including Verizon FIOS, Comcast or RCN. Please check their websites to see if service is available in your area.

  • Travel Internet Service - These plans include turning your cell phone into a mobile hotspot, satellite cards, and USB devices that will connect your computer wherever they have service.

  • Device-Specific Service - Some personal productivity equipment such as an iPad or Netbook require their own internet/data plan.

  • Mobile Phone Service - A number of service providers offer high-speed phone and data connections for mobile phones.

Some faculty members can be reimbursed for a portion of the above service plan costs.
