The Multimedia Development team is responsible for all of the intricately produced and award-winning HBS multimedia case studies. Behind each case study are hours upon hours of research, travel, filming, and editing. They are a small but mighty team with a creative eye and mind for story. And after many years of travel, both nationally and internationally for days at a time, they’ve learned to be adaptable while maintaining their professionalism. The team now brings duplicate equipment and strategically separates it out in different travel cases, in part due to a lost luggage incident once upon a time.
The team was interviewing Ratan Tata, the namesake of Tata Hall on HBS’s campus, for a case study about the 26/11 terror attacks in India. “We landed in Mumbai, and the airline lost half of our equipment. And our first interview of that shoot was with Ratan Tata, so we really had to scramble to make sure it came off without a hitch,” Ruth Page, Director of Multimedia Development, said. Thankfully, it worked out in the end, but it was certainly a lesson for the team moving forward.

“Over the years, you not only develop a practice but also the tools you need,” Dave Habeeb, Creative Director, said. “And we pride ourselves on having it honed. We’re nimble, we don’t have too much gear, but we have enough to do professional work without it being too cumbersome.”
Without this team working in partnership with HBS faculty, the historic multimedia case studies would not be what they are today. Though the work is creative and interesting, it is also exhausting, and we tip our hats off to this incredible team.
