Derek van Bever

Director

Derek is a Senior Lecturer in the General Management Unit at Harvard Business School. He is part of the teaching team for Professor Christensen’s signature course, Building and Sustaining a Successful Enterprise in the second year elective curriculum.

He is a co-founder of The Advisory Board Company (NASDAQ: ABCO), a global research, consulting, and technology firm serving hospital and university executives, and was a member of the founding executive team of The Corporate Executive Board (NYSE: CEB), a global thought leadership and advisory network, which spun out of the Advisory Board Company in a highly successful 1999 Initial Public Offering. The Corporate Executive Board is now the world’s largest executive advisory network, with annual revenue over $800 million and a membership spanning over 50 countries and including executives from 85% of the Fortune 500 and 50% of the Dow Jones Asian Titans.

Iuliana Mogosanu

Research Associate

Iuliana is responsible for supporting the research projects pertaining to a variety of topics of interest to The Forum. She is particularly interested in the framework to advance innovation and how causality and management theories can support growth strategies, jobs creation, and global prosperity.

Before joining The Forum, Iuliana graduated with a BS in Economics, after which she worked for several years in corporate banking on a risk management position on investments with multinational corporations from several industries and countries. Iuliana left the banking industry and successfully co-founded and grew a startup.

Iuliana holds an MBA from The University of Michigan Ross School of Business and an MS from The University of Michigan School of Environment and Sustainability. At The University of Michigan, she was a VP of The Zell Lurie Commercialization Fund and Early-Stage Investor. She received The Dow Distinguished Award with seed funding for developing a concentrated solar power water desalination technology.

Anibha Singh

Research Associate

As a Research Associate at the Forum, Anibha is responsible for supporting research initiatives, case development, and community-building efforts focused on applying causal management and innovation theories to a variety of industries. She is particularly interested in advancing the application of these theories in non-profit and public sectors.

Before joining the Forum, Anibha founded Petite Heimat LLC, a social impact venture with the mission of creating decentralized business models that empower indigenous artisans in the global south. Prior to this, Anibha was an analyst at Innosight LLC, a consulting firm focused on growth strategy and innovation.

Anibha was a Weissman Scholar at Babson College and graduated in 2015 with a BSc in Business Administration and a concentration in Data Analytics. At Babson, she worked on a series of field projects exploring the role of entrepreneurship, education, and access to energy in rural development in India.

Katie Zandbergen

Community Manager

As the Community Manager at The Forum for Growth & Innovation, Katie is responsible for building a community centered on the alumni of Clayton Christensen’s BSSE and Disruptive Innovation courses, while also encompassing those professionals who share our passion for developing and employing frameworks that improve growth and innovation management. The Forum welcomes all learners and managers who seek to use our resources to spread the use of Clay’s theories for the greater good, and Katie works to grow our community both online and through other outreach initiatives. She is also a regular host of The Disruptive Voice podcast, is involved with various research projects at The Forum, and contributes to planning for our speaker series and other events, all with the goal of empowering alumni to pull the frameworks from Clay’s courses into their lives.

Prior to joining The Forum, Katie enjoyed the experience of working at two Boston-area startups. She also lived abroad for over a decade, including five years in The Netherlands spent teaching public policy, as an academic advisor, and working to establish the alumni association at Amsterdam University College, the honors college established jointly by the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit. Katie earned her PhD and MPhil from The University of Oxford and has a BS in Management & Business from Skidmore College.

Christopher is responsible for executing the administrative operations of the Forum. His work centers on logistical duties in support of Forum research and outreach initiatives, organizing events, and producing media content for the Forum’s YouTube channel, website, and signature podcast series: The Disruptive Voice.

On the other side of the river, Christopher is a candidate for the M.Div. at Harvard Divinity School where he studies business ethics, spirituality, and cognitive neuroscience. Through his ministerial work, he aims to bring Harvard Business School and Harvard Divinity School into dialogue on matters of meaning, pedagogy and mission.

Prior to joining The Forum, he studied filmmaking at Interlochen Arts Academy, worked in research laboratories at Harvard Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Neuroscience and Religion.

Chet Huber

Senior Lecturer
Chet Huber is a Senior Lecturer, having joined the General Management unit in July, 2011. He teaches Building and Sustaining a Successful Enterprise in the second year elective curriculum. Prior to joining the Harvard Business School, Chet spent 37 years at General Motors Corporation, initially in its locomotive business, the Electro-Motive Division in LaGrange, Illinois, and then as part of its OnStar vehicle services business in Detroit, Michigan. At Electro-Motive, Chet held various engineering, operations and commercial positions before becoming responsible for leading all of the division’s sales, service and marketing efforts globally.

Allison Mnookin

Senior Lecturer of Business Administration
Allison Mnookin is a Senior Lecturer of Business Administration in the Technology and Operations Management (TOM) Unit at the Harvard Business School. She currently teaches the TOM and FIELD Global Immersion courses in the required MBA curriculum. In addition, she co-leads the HBS Startup Bootcamp. Ms. Mnookin brings two decades of experience as a technology executive for successful cloud and business software companies. She most recently was CEO of Quick Base Inc. and currently serves on the company’s Board of Directors. At Quick Base, Allison was responsible for setting the business strategy and overseeing a client base of more than 500,000 business subscribers, including more than 50 percent of the Fortune 100.

Rory McDonald

Thai-Hi T. Lee (MBA 1985) Associate Professor of Business Administration
Rory McDonald is an Associate Professor of Business Administration in the Technology and Operations Management Unit. He teaches Building and Sustaining a Successful Enterprise (BSSE) in the MBA elective curriculum and previously taught the Technology and Operations Management course in the MBA required curriculum. In 2016, he was named one of the world’s top 40 business school professors under 40 by Poets and Quants. Professor McDonald’s research focuses on how firms compete and innovate effectively in new technology-enabled markets. Drawing on a mix of in-depth fieldwork and archival data, he studies how executives develop viable strategies in these contexts and how they obtain resources that improve their chances of success.

Willy Shih is the Robert and Jane Cizik Professor of Management Practice in Business Administration. He is part of the Technology and Operations Management Unit, and he teaches in the MBA and Executive Education Programs. His expertise is in manufacturing and product development, and he has written or co-authored numerous cases and teaching materials in industries ranging from semiconductors, information technology, consumer electronics, aerospace, transportation equipment, manufacturing processes and tools, and intellectual property. His paper, “Restoring American Competitiveness,” co-authored with Gary Pisano, won the 2009 McKinsey Award. His book, “Producing Prosperity – Why America Needs a Manufacturing Renaissance,” co-authored with Gary Pisano, has called attention to the link between manufacturing and innovation. He is also the author of “Back Bay Battery,” a best-selling innovation simulation.
