Crossing Disciplines: Studying Fairness, Bias, and Inequality in Management and Decision Sciences Research
On May 21st, Harvard Business School and IMS New Research Group will host an afternoon virtual workshop, Crossing Disciplines: Studying Fairness, Bias, and Inequality in Management and Decision Sciences Research. This workshop will bring together leading junior researchers studying issues related to fairness, bias, and inequality in the data science, statistics, management, social sciences, and decision sciences communities.
By participating in this workshop, you will meet junior scholars working at the cutting edge of both theory and practice at the intersection of these topics. Our goal is to develop common ground for future discussions and to spur collaborations among researchers who are knowledgeable about fairness, bias, and inequality and / or using advanced statistical methods in their research.
The workshop will include keynote presentations by practitioners and junior scholars participating in the workshop, lightning talks from all participants, and networking breakout activities.
In addition to the afternoon workshop, there will be a morning seminar that is open to the general public. The seminar will feature five presenters who will discuss their research as it relates to Fairness, Bias, and Inequality in Management and Decision Sciences Research.
