Michela Giorcelli is a visiting Professor in the strategy unit for Harvard Business School. Along with being a visiting Professor, Michela Giorcelli is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Faculty Affiliate at the California Center for Population Research. Before joining Harvard Business School, she was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of California - Los Angeles. While at the University of California – Los Angeles, Michela Giorcelli was able to teach Economic History of Western Europe, Economic History of the United States, Development of Economic Institutions in Western Europe, The Americanization of Europe After WWII, and Economics of Innovation, Ideas, and Growth.

Her interests lie at the intersection of Economic History, Productivity, and Economics of Innovation. Her research focused on the development and diffusion of management and technology innovations and their impact on firm productivity. In the past four years, Michela Giorcelli has published seven papers on various economic journals, including the American Economic Review and the Journal of Political Economy, and currently working on four more. Additionally, she has three projects that are in the works.

She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 2016. In 2010, she received her Masters in Economics from the University of Tornio in Italy, Summa Cum Laude, and Dignity of Print. Additionally, in 2010, Michela Giorcelli received her Masters of Science in Economics from the Collegio Carlo Alberto with distinction.

Michela Giorcelli is a visiting Professor in the strategy unit for Harvard Business School.
