Archie Jones is a Senior Lecturer in the Entrepreneurial Management Unit at the Harvard Business School, where he currently teaches Venture Capital and Private Equity, Field Global Immersion course (Nairobi, Kenya ‘23 and Accra, Ghana ‘24) and, co-designed and teaches Scaling Minority Businesses. He is also a faculty advisor to the school’s Social Enterprise Initiative, faculty lead of the Upswell Forum, and faculty co-sponsor of the Black Investment Club. He is the recipient of the prestigious Robert F. Greenhill Award for Outstanding Contributions to Harvard Business School and the Dr. James I. Cash Advancing Pathways Award for his commitment to educating and/or mentoring the next generation of leaders contributing to business and society.
Beyond academia, Archie is an accomplished author, advisor, investor, and speaker. As the founder and CEO of NxGen COACH Network™, he leverages his leadership experiences to guide both emerging and seasoned leaders worldwide. Grounded in the Leadership Capital Framework, from his best-selling book, The Treasure You Seek: A Guide to Developing and Leveraging Your Leadership Capital, Archie empowers leaders to unlock their unique capabilities and value. Through workshops and speaking engagements, he helps them build confidence and pursue their dreams with purpose and clarity.
Archie extends these insights through his popular podcast, Training Camp for Leaders with Archie L. Jones, Jr., on topics ranging from entrepreneurship to pursuing board service. For over three decades, he has led successful private equity investments and value creation in public and private companies, including Merrill Lynch, Parthenon Capital, Kenexa, IBM and NOW Corporation. With his focus on strategy, private equity and corporate M&A transactions, Archie led investments across a variety of industries and sectors in the US, Asia and Europe. He currently serves as a Board Director for Corpay (NYSE: CPAY), an S&P 500 company, and is a senior advisor and operating partner at Six Pillars Partners.
Archie is a recognized thought leader in social impact, dedicated to driving innovation and systemic change through his work with organizations like New Profit, Year Up United, Junior Achievement Africa, and the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. As Board Chairman of Project Evident, a board member of Genesys Works and the National Association of Corporate Directors (Atlanta), Archie continues to shape initiatives that transform communities.
Archie earned a B.A. in Accounting from Morehouse College and his MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a NACD Certified Director. In his downtime, he enjoys fishing and golfing with his three sons.
