Overview
Description
Dr. Crawford conducts research on innovation in the energy industry, with a special focus on emerging business models. She is developing several cases for the EC course, "21st Century Energy," that specifically examine innovations at the interface of IT and Energy — so-called "digital energy" (smart grids, peer-to-peer trading, shadow peaker plants, smart EVs and houses, and the emergence of "prosumers").
Crawford's second area of research is on corporate accountability, with a particular focus on unintended environmental harms. She is developing cases for the RC course "Leadership and Corporate Accountability" that examine to what extent firms could be held accountable for negative environmental externalities (e.g., climate change from fossil fuel burning, pollinator deaths from GMOs and pesticides), and what corporate leaders should do about it.
