Top Management Teams
Description
Michael Roberto is studying how senior management teams function, and how chief executives lead these teams effectively. Many chief executives can identify their top management team, but this set of executives does not necessarily perform critical tasks and make strategic decisions as a group. Professor Roberto's research attempts to identify the tasks and functions that executives choose to perform as a team, and to learn why managers opt to work as a group on some issues, but not on others. He is trying to identify the different modes in which top management teams operate, and to determine the more effective ways in which leaders garner advice and input from other senior executives.
