Abstract

The Teaching Note emphasizes strategic decision-making under uncertainty, the internal and external consistency of differentiation strategies, and the risks of growth in founder-led firms. It provides guidance on analyzing DO & CO’s value chain, competitive advantage, and opportunity costs, while also highlighting the company’s reliance on culture, human capital, and operational excellence. The case is particularly well-suited as a capstone discussion in a core MBA or executive strategy course
