AI, ROI, and Sales Productivity
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is now a loose term for many different things and at the peak of its hype curve. So managers hitch-their-pitch to the term in arguing for resources. But like any technology, its business value depends upon actionable use cases embraced by the users. The value proposition at the heart of AI is that the tools can do a task as good as or better than people, freeing-up time for people to do the tasks they do best. In sales, freeing-up time can be a major productivity enhancer. This article discusses places where AI, when accompanied by relevant performance management practices, can help as well as issues that companies must address to reap ROI from AI sales applications.
