'Storrowed': A Generative AI Exercise
By: Mitchell Weiss
Abstract
Teaching Note for HBS Exercise No. 824-188. “Storrowed” is an exercise to help participants raise their proficiency with generative AI. It begins by highlighting a problem: trucks getting wedged underneath bridges in Boston, Massachusetts on the city’s Storrow Drive. The exercise then proceeds in two stages, with participants using generative AI tools to help understand and then solve the problem of “Storrowing”. The exercise can be run with a game that adds a friendly competitive dynamic. The game helps puts a premium on helpful, creative generative AI prompting and a penalty on believing false information generative AI tools provided.
