Tony Elumelu Foundation: Democratizing Luck Across Africa

Abstract
Founded in 2010, The Tony Elumelu Foundation is Africa’s leading philanthropy working to support entrepreneurs in Africa with access to seed capital, business management training, mentorship, and access to networks. Through a $100 million commitment but its founder, Tony O. Elumelu in 2015, the Foundation committed to funding 10,000 entrepreneurs in 10 years and has so far been able to reach over 18,000 entrepreneurs. By working across Africa to support entrepreneurs, the foundation’s mission is to democratize luck and access to opportunities while building up a resilient private sector.
