Abstract

In early 2006, the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) in Moscow commissioned Professor Michael Porter and his team to conduct a review of the existing evidence on Russian competitiveness. The objective of this report is to synthesize, interpret, and draw implications about Russia's economic progress, applying the Porter competitiveness framework1 and drawing on learning from dozens of other national competitiveness projects. This review is part of a Strategic Audit of the Russian Federation, a broader set of research activities coordinated by CSR to provide a sound analytical basis for longterm economic policy planning in the Russian Federation.
