Rising Scholars Conference

Rising Scholars Conference

Expand Your Network

The second annual Rising Scholars Conference took place virtually on October 20 and 21, 2021. The event gathered diverse doctoral and postdoctoral students from across the country to present their work and interact with faculty at Harvard Business School and from other institutions. The Rising Scholars Conference originated at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2020 to support doctoral student and faculty diversity.

Participants discussed research across fields, learned from diverse academic leaders, and networked with colleagues across the country. The conference’s objectives were to help rising scholars gain research insights, valuable exposure, and faculty mentorship that would benefit them for years to come.

Harvard Business School strongly encouraged participation from underrepresented groups such as Black doctoral students and postdocs, as well as from others whose backgrounds and experience would bring additional dimensions to the educational experience. We strongly believe in the value of diversity (broadly defined) in the pursuit of our educational mission.

Doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows who are interested in presenting research at the Rising Scholars Conference were invited to submit an abstract of a work-in-progress or published work. The deadline for submission has now passed. Presenters have been notified of final decisions.

Questions? Please feel free to reach out to the Doctoral Programs Office.

Registration for the conference is now closed. Registration was free and open to all faculty, researchers, and students at any college or university.
