Frequently Asked Questions

I am a professional athlete. How do I enroll?
Please complete the short online application form. Admission decisions are made jointly by Harvard Business School and the sports leagues we partner with on the Crossover program.
I am a professional athlete. How much does it cost to participate in the program?
The Crossover Into Business program is currently free for professional athletes – we do not charge any application or program fees.
I am a professional athlete. Will Harvard pay my travel and accommodation for the on-campus portion of the program?
We do not, no. Your league may be willing to reimburse you for those expenses – we will reach out to you with more information upon admission into the program.
I am a professional athlete. How much time and effort am I expected to commit to the program if I am admitted?
The experience is customized for every participant, and you largely set your own pace, but on average we would expect you to analyze a case study with your mentors every two to three weeks. We also expect you to work towards your learning objectives in other ways, for instance by reading other relevant articles and discussing those with your student mentors.
I work at a sports team or league, and we’re interested in collaborating with Harvard on this program. What do we do?
Please reach out to us at crossover@hbs.edu. We would be delighted to discuss the possibilities with you.
I am a Harvard student, and would like to help with this program by serving as a mentor or helping in some other capacity. What should I do?
Please email us at crossover@hbs.edu using your Harvard email account, and the student coordinator will reach out to you!
I am a Harvard Business School student. Will I receive course credit for being a mentor?
No, you will not. This is an extracurricular activity.
I am not a current Harvard Business School student, but I am interested in helping with the program, as a mentor, an instructor, or in another capacity. What do I do?
We currently do not have a need for any outside help, but feel free to reach out to crossover@hbs.edu with ideas on how you would like to help, and we will keep you in mind for future editions of the program.
