The pandemic has not only disrupted lives and businesses the world over, it has illuminated underlying fragilities in global value chains (GVC), which are divided among multiple firms and geographies.  In a new paper, Laura Alfaro and Ester Faia explore the unraveling of GVCs and related disruptions to money flows caused by the coronavirus.
