Course Description
This course is offered to students working actively on creating or joining a climate solutions start up or on a research project that could create a management tool or framework for climate solutions. Having attended the Risks, Opportunities, and Investments in the Era of Climate Change (ROICC) course in the fall term is a requirement for taking the Lab version of the course. Admission to the course is subject to approval by the instructor.
The course is not a case-based course. It will meet weekly and students will be required to present or participate actively in seminars debating the growth, profit, and climate impact prospects of different climate solutions. We will have as guests venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, executives of large enterprises, and private equity investors, all with substantial experience in accelerating climate solutions.
The ROICC solutions lab course is designed for students with a serious interest in building and advising companies, and investing in the trillions of dollars in profit pools unlocked by climate solutions over the next decade.
Grading Criteria
Course grade will be comprised of 50% in-class participation and 50% performance on the project.
