"This painting is intended to be a curious, intriguing story that evokes a feeling of mystery and enigma. The relationship between the partially obscured, almost antic quality of the figure and the dog is tenuous and undefined. A narrative unfolds, yet there is no hint of a beginning or an end. The large scale and position of the dark silhouetted images contrast with the saturated blue and green landscape. They add a sense of drama that is both accessible and inviting, but leaves many questions unanswered."—Marjorie Weiss
