Born in Monahans, Texas, Skeet McAuley currently resides in Dallas. Inspired by the romanticized landscapes of the Hudson River School, this work is from his series of large-scale photographs of golf courses. He has had solo exhibitions at the Mead Art Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts, and the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago. His work can be found in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC; the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, Texas; and the Figge Art Museum, Davenport, Iowa. He has received a Polaroid Artist Support Grant from the Polaroid Corporation and two National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Fellowships.
