"My photographs explore the domestic landscape and its relationship to the natural world. [My] Danbury Road [series] is a documentation of Ridgefield, Connecticut's architecture and its surrounding light. I am interested in the contradictions that unfold: the way people stage the lighting of their homes, eliciting the simultaneous experience of invitation and exclusion. Formally, the landscape is reminiscent of American pastoral and German Romantic painting. This was part of my initial attraction to the setting: a community's delicate balance between civilization and nature, the prosaic and the sublime."—Miranda Lichtenstein
