"I drive, I drive a lot. People ask me how I find my pictures. I tell them I drive around. I drive and drive and I mostly don't find anything that is interesting to me. But then, something calls out. This is one of my very first night photographs that incorporates the use of motion. It was a cold, windy, and foggy night, typical of the summers in San Francisco. Due to the long exposure time of six minutes necessary for my night photography, the cloth of the car cover was blowing in the wind and made this ghostly impression on the film."—Todd Hido
