"The Flag Series, begun in 1983, conjoins Pop Art, Folk Art, and Impressionist Art as it explores the flag as a mosaic. Each flag investigates the abstract ideal of "American Flagness" by deconstructing its uniform elements, and reconcatenizing them into a moving celebration of historicity and unicity.
