Cédric Eisenring, Signal to Noise, 2019, black-and-white photograph on baryta paper, photo retouch color, marker on aluminum. 33 7/8 x 40 ¾ in., Schwartz Art Collection, Harvard Business School
Signal to Noise (2019) by artist Cédric Eisenring is a sequential series of photographs of bronze public sculptures, most of which are located in New York City. Edited directly in the lab, the final hand-colored prints are covered with quotations appropriated from graphic novels of the 1990s, merging the documentary and the fictional while simultaneously engaging with both pictorial and text-based narrative.
