Abstract
For decades, the field of Technology and Operations Management has employed an
information processing approach to modeling the innovative and operating
processes that make up the core of the modern enterprise. In recent years,
improvements in the creation and deployment of information technology platforms
have significantly increased information processing capacity in both small and
large organizations. In this seminar, we will present empirical data and field
examples that document this trend and showcase its impact on industry structure,
enterprise profitability and growth.
