An updated conference schedule, including session times, is now available.

The Strategy group at Harvard Business School will host its eighth annual Strategy Research Conference on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14, 2006. The conference is evolving towards a theme-based format. The plan is to explore, in greater depth, different themes each year.

This year the conference will focus on strategy and innovation, specifically:

"When and how do established companies innovate?"

We are interested in understanding the conditions under which established companies successfully innovate. Areas of particular interest include:

  • Strategies for capturing value from innovations
  • Intellectual property rights and firm strategies
  • Consumer behavior in the presence of new technologies
  • Social networks and innovation
  • Decision making processes in uncertain environments
  • Innovation in business models
  • New technologies and firm boundaries
