Professor Regina Herzlinger has been appointed the first Visiting Professor at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants at the University of Edinburgh. During her visit to Scotland in December, Herzlinger lectured on the relationship between government and the nonprofit sector. Irvine Lapsley, director of Edinburgh's research center dedicated to study of the public sector, says of the appointment: "Without a doubt, Regina Herzlinger is one of the world's foremost authorities on management accounting in governmental and not-for-profit organizations. The staff, researchers, and students associated with this Centre are excited about this connection with Regina."
In other news, Managed Healthcare has named Herzlinger one of healthcare*s top ten thinkers. In addition, her book, Market-Driven Health Care,is now out in paperback and is being translated into Japanese.
