Loan Assistance

• Confirm/determine your loan eligibility, by emailing the Financial Aid office at LRAP@hbs.edu with permission to share your eligibility calculation with the committee.
• Contact LRAP@hbs.edu with any questions on eligibility.
• Complete your application. (IMPORTANT: You should have all of your answers and documents ready for the application prior to starting it. See preview of application.)
• Submit your application to qburns@hbs.edu via Harvard's secure file transfer system, filetransfer.harvard.edu.
• Once you have submitted your application utilizing the HBS secure file transfer tool, please retain the sent receipt that the tool will immediately send you. Once your application is downloaded, you will also receive another receipt notifying you that your file has been opened. If you do not receive the download receipt within the first seven days of October, please email your sent receipt to LRAP@hbs.edu and FinAid@hbs.edu. The LRAP Committee decisions will be sent by mid-December.

Applications are reviewed by the Selection Committee on an annual basis. The next application deadline is October 1, 2023, at 9:00 am EST for the 2024 award.

The only application deadline is October 1, at 9:00 am EST. Applicants who have questions or concerns regarding the materials needed to meet the deadline should submit the following at least two weeks in advance of the October 1 deadline: a statement of where you are in the process that clearly indicates your questions and concerns, and as much of your application as you have completed. LRAP will review these materials on a case-by-case basis to advise on the feasibility of participation within the program constraints. If, after receiving your application, the Fellowship Selection Committee needs further information, you may be contacted with follow-up questions.

Late applications will be accepted for review by the committee on a case-by-case basis up until the committee meets in early November, and an award is not guaranteed. In submitting your application, please note the reason for the late application.
